What This Screen Shows

  • This option allows you to set up a statement and/or signature line to appear at the bottom of the Check Register; your saved statement and/or signature line will print on every Check Register that you run.

Best Practices

  • After you add/change a statement/signature line, you should review how it will appear, by running a test Check Register; adjust the wording and spacing until you get the desired outcome.

Check Register Certification Statement

  1. Payroll → Setup → Certification Statements → Check Register Certification Statement
  2. If there is currently no certification statement saved, you will see an error dialog screen that says, The file [payckrg.txt] was not found or is damaged; click Quit (the X button) to close that dialog screen.
  3. In the large Text Browser screen, type any statement that you would like to appear at the bottom of your Check Register; enter it exactly as you want it to appear on the report; you can insert lines and spaces, and left-justify/center/right-justify the wording as desired; signature lines can be drawn with the Underline key on your keyboard.
  4. Click Quit (the X button) to close the Text Browser.
  5. Click Save on the Save Warning Dialog Screen.
  6. A small Save Screen will appear with the Filename payckrg.txt; do not change the Filename, simply click Save on the Save Screen.
  7. Finally, click Quit (the X button) to close the Text Browser.
  8. Run a Check Register (on any Pay ID) to confirm that the new certification statement looks exactly the way you want it to look on the report; if you want to change it in any way, simply go back to Setup → Certification Statement → Check Register Certification Statement, and adjust the wording and/or spacing until you get the desired outcome.
